SEC to focus on disclosure

New SEC Chairman Jay Clayton has said that one of his guiding principles will be improving disclosure for all forms of investor in all categories of US funds. He adds that this issue is complex but standards must improve.

‘The Commission has several initiatives underway to improve the disclosure available to investors.’

He added that he had become aware of some of the challenges ahead since taking over at the SEC. Improving disclosure to investors is high on his list of priorities.
