How would describe your approach to fund governance?
We are a high end provider of professional director services which only recruits seasoned professionals who have significant experience from holding senior roles within the industry (average over 20 years) and are truly independent. We guarantee that our Principals who act as Directors will limit the number of relationships that they take on so that they can properly fulfil their fiduciary duty to the Fund, work within their capacity and remain responsive and actively engaged. Our approach is that our Principals do all of the work themselves and only appoint alternates in very rare and unavoidable circumstances, however for administrative, corporate secretarial and other services we have a team of 12 highly qualified and experienced account officers including qualified accountants, lawyers and past regulators. We strive to ensure that current best practices are observed at all times and to add value to our Fund relationships. We keep up to date and advance our profile within the industry by speaking at conferences and are often requested to participate in industry and government round tables, working groups and consultations. We believe in being transparent and have a DDQ which outlines our approach to corporate governance. Our DDQ also includes data on the number of relationships each HighWater director has, analysed by strategy and updated quarterly. We provide this to the investor community to assist them with their due diligence process and to assist us with our goal of maintaining strong relationships with them. We also meet with investors regularly and hold many events and working groups with them in order to ensure that we maintain an in-depth understanding of their views on issues and on how they expect a non executive director to represent them on fund boards.
